Objective:
Learners qualified with this skills programme can identify and describe the features of a manufacturing, assembly or engineering process. The learner also has an understanding of the concept quality in terms of customer requirements and product specifications.
Unit Standards:
13169: Describe and discuss issues relating to HIV-AIDS, TB and STI’s and their impact on the workplace.
13162: Identify and describe inputs, outputs, stages and quality indicators of the manufacturing, assembly or engineering process.
13174: Identify and discuss inappropriate behaviours in the workplace.
13167: Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace.
13172: Understand the employer/employee relationship.
Outcomes:
At the end of the skills programme, learners will be able to:
- Explain the impact of HIV-AIDS, TB and STI’s on the workplace.
- Correctly identify and describe the various stages of the process and the inputs, outputs, power sources, control systems, control systems and services.
- Recognise inappropriate behaviours and respond to the correctly.
- Accurately describe basic safety, health and environmental issues related to a specific workplace.
- Describe and explain the purpose of employment contract and company rules, policies, procedures and relate these to the relationship between the employer and the employee.
