Objective:

Learners will be able to use and care for tools and equipment, perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure operational integrity and describe safety, health and issues and relate them to a specific work context.

Outcomes:

At the end of the skills programme, learners will be able to:

  • Recognise and interpret safety signs and colour codes.
  • Identify potential hazards in the workplace and describe how to avoid them.
  • Apply quality checks on completed work.
  • Problems are identified and reported.
  • Select and use appropriate tools.
  • Clean and store tools and equipment.
